The construction of the Mo\u00e7\u00e2medes railway line started in 1905, still with a 0,600 m gauge, and was completed in 1961, with several partial openings during the construction period. On the day the whole line was opened, the gauge was already 1,067 m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 1964, Somafel started a set of works on this railway line, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • Track laying, ballasting and tamping works on the Munhino Bypass<\/li>
  • Track laying , ballasting and tamping works on the third section of the Serra da Chela Bypass<\/li>
  • Track laying , ballasting and tamping works on the second section of the Serra da Chela Bypass<\/li>
  • Track refurbishment on the Mo\u00e7\u00e2medes Line between km 333 and km 525<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n
