Most of the population, economic activities and employment are concentrated on this corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The modernization project aimed to reduce the travel time between Lisbon and Porto, ensuring greater safety, comfort and reliability and reducing the operating costs of the country\u2019s main railway infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This megaproject was subdivided into sections involving similar works.
