<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The “Modernization of the Southern Line in the Ermidas – Gr\u00e2ndola North section”, promoted by Infraestruturas de Portugal S.A., aligns with the provisions of the Strategic Plan for Transport and Infrastructure regarding interventions planned for the Southern International Corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The interventions associated with the “Southern International Corridor” aim to establish a direct, interoperable, and intermodal connection between the ports in the south of Portugal, namely the Port of Sines, the Port of Set\u00fabal, and the Port of Lisbon, and the Spanish border (Caia \/ Badajoz). This global project is part of the pre-identified “Sines-Lisboa-Madrid” section of the Atlantic Corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Somafel’s interventions involved:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  • Adapting the layouts of the Ermidas-Sado and Canal Caveira stations to accommodate longer trains of at least 750 meters;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Constructing and adapting the overhead line to support the increased length of the railway stations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
