Description

VLT Carioca is Rio de Janeiro’s Light Rail System. The construction of VLT Carioca was part of an old project to revamp the centre of Rio de Janeiro, which came to life when the city was chosen to host the 2016 Olympic Games.

The system consists of a slab track equipped with block concrete sleeper and 41 GPU rail, approximately 21.2 km long, and includes the installation of 42 switches and crossings.
