Flash-Butt Welding

Following the contract award for the “Execution of 2100 Electric Welds” with Infraestruturas de Portugal, Somafel proceeded to validate and certify one of its Flash-Butt Welding Machines in Portugal. This process involved several tests to comply with EN 14587 standard. Given the innovative character of the fatigue tests required by the standard, a strategic partnership was created with the ITECONS laboratory for the respective implementation. Results showed the perfect fulfillment of all requirements, similarly to what has occurred in other markets where Somafel operates.
