SOMAFEL Ltda. (Brazil) and VALE, S.A. signed, on 05/05/2021, the contract for the project “Provision of Technical Services for Infrastructure, Drainage, Small Earthworks and Track Repowering, in the Mining Yards of Carajás Plant I”. The project will be carried out at Complexo Minerador de Carajás, in the State of Pará, and has a duration of 420 days. The planned works include the demolition and removal of the existing track and the execution of new track, in Yards C and D, for a total extension of 3400 meters, as well as, the drainage and leveling of Yard A, in an area of 32500 squared meters.
With this project, SOMAFEL continues its operation at Carajás Mine, one of the largest iron ore mines in the world, after the 2019 and 2020 successful completion of the rehabilitation of other yards in this mining complex, which consolidates SOMAFEL as a reference supplier for VALE, in this type of projects.
