Railway Summit 2025 – Sustainability & ESG

Somafel had the honor of participating in the Railway Summit 2025, joining Panel 4 – Sustainability & ESG, at the invitation of the Portuguese Railway Platform (PFP), represented by Paulo Duarte.

It was an enriching discussion on the role of railways as a driver of sustainability and the integration of ESG practices in the sector.

Special mention goes to the excellent presentation by Alexandra Vilela, who delivered a well-structured talk on the financing framework, and to Margarida Pinto for her exemplary moderation, which fostered a balanced and insightful discussion.

The panel was shared by Sónia Filipe (SOMAFEL), Maria Manuel Farinha (ISQ), and João Sá (Siemens Mobility), whose perspectives and experiences further enriched this moment of reflection and knowledge sharing.

Sustainability is a collective goal — and railways are one of its most promising paths.
