Somafel carries out works of superstructure and signalling support on the Carajás Railroad, Brazil

Somafel was responsible for the works of railway superstructure and signaling assistance for the duplication of several segments of Carajás Railroad – EFC, in northern Brazil, in a length of 170km.

The Carajás Railroad is currently the biggest passenger railway in operation in Brazil and one of the railways with the highest capacity for freight in the world.

With a length of approximately 900km, after the duplication project, it now has a transport capacity of 230 million tons of freight and 350,000 passengers a year.
