Description

The project described is part of the Lisbon Metro Expansion Plan. It involved extending the Yellow Line from Rato to Cais do Sodré and connecting it to the Green Line, allowing the Green Line to operate in a ring.

Somafel’s contribution to the project included:

• Supply and installation of 6 SEV’s: These are special track sections that facilitate the connection between different lines;
• Supply and installation of 1100ml of slab track;
• Installation of energy rail, including the aluminothermic welding;
• Installation of safety rail.

By completing these tasks, Somafel helped to create a more efficient and interconnected metro system in Lisbon.
