Description

SOMAFEL, leading an international consortium, started operating in Mozambique in 1984, with a project for the Mozambican Port and Rail Authority (Direção Nacional de Portos e Caminhos de Ferro de Moçambique), which consisted of the full refurbishment of the railway line between Nacala and Cuamba, along 538 km.

Segments carried out: 

– Phase 1: Nacala / Nampula (192 km);  – Phase 2: Nampula / Cuamba (346 km).
