Railtex 2019 – Somafel’s presence

Somafel was present at Railtex 2019 in Birmingham, UK.

Railtex is the UK’s leading trade fair for rail equipment, systems and services. The first edition took place in 1993, and the 2019 edition was the 14th.

The 2019 edition, which ran from 14 to 16 May at the Birmingham Exhibition Centre, was attended by more than 420 exhibitors from 22 countries. In addition to the exhibition area, where visitors were able to contact companies from different areas of the railway sector, a series of lectures were held during the 3 days of the event, from which we highlight that presented by Rail Minister Andrew Jones, MP, focusing on the market’s development prospects in the United Kingdom.

Throughout the event, Somafel established contacts with a number of British rail industry entities and its stand was visited by representatives of the Network Rail, the Institute of Railway Research of the Huddersfield University, among dozens of others.

Somafel’s presence as an exhibitor in this kind of events is a way to promote the company’s image in a rather competitive market and to establish initial contacts to be further developed, in line with the commercial strategy established for the market in question.
