Description

In the field of Light Rail transport systems, SOMAFEL was heavily involved in the construction of the Porto Light Rail network between 2001 and 2005.

Sections carried out

• Construction of the Santo Ovídio Terminal on the S Line; • Repositioning of the girders and replacement of the rail fastenings on the wooden sleepers on Luiz I Bridge (S Line); • Construction of the upper platform and accesses to the Guifões Maintenance Depot and Workshops; • Design and construction of the Instituto Universitário da Maia (ISMAI) Terminal, on the Trofa Line; • Works to adapt Senhora da Hora station to the Póvoa Line Terminal; • Construction of the platform and tracks of the Guifões Maintenance Depot and Workshops;
