Description

SOMAFEL carried out the first construction projects in heavy underground metro networks in the 1970’s, in the city of Lisbon. Since then, SOMAFEL has successively participated in the expansion of the Lisbon Metro Network.

Sections carried out

• Construction of the Baixa-Chiado / Santa Apolónia section; • Construction of the Ameixoeira / Odivelas section; • Overhaul of earthworks, drainage, track and overhead line in Cais do Sodré station; • Construction of the Chelas / Oriente section; • Construction of the Alameda / Chelas section and incorporation in the existing network; • Construction of the Sete Rios / Luz and Entrecampos / Cidade Universitária sections; • Ballast track laying on the temporary terminals of the Luz and Cidade Universitária stations; • Supply and installation of track at the Maintenance Depot and Workshops II; • Incorporation of the Cidade Universitária terminal; • Incorporation of the Alvalade terminal; • Construction of the Cidade Universitária / Campo Grande section; • Construction of the Anjos / Alvalade section.
